Description

  • To prepare (where needed) and vet the estimates for repair and maintenance (R&M) works of schools in coordination with area/ schools as per Region plan.
  • Compile area wise list of R&M work, and after detailed scrutinizing, prioritize these work for final approval.
  • Monitoring of new schools being taken over in GP sector and subsequent planning and any surveys.
  • Oversee necessary repair/ renovation works of schools by ensuring recording, economy and quality of work through close liaison, visits and coordination with all stake holders.
  • Scrutinize the closing of R&M expense reports for awarded by areas/ schools for final settlement with finance department.
  • Maintain and regularly update records of all school inventories (in Hard and Soft formats) with assistance of respective Area Coordinators.
  • Ensure correct and timely up keeping of all types of reports/ data regarding R&M demand with assistance of respective Area Coordinators.
  • Maintenance/ scrutiny of list of contractors/ vendors in respective areas.
  • Assist area team in availability/ maintenance of basic utility services in all schools (electricity, water etc).
  • Assist/ share new constructions/ major renovations work update with compliance team, for further notification to PEIMA/ PEF.
  • Assist/ advise RAM/ regions on all R&M/ renovation related issues/ policies.
  • Compile infrastructure inventories/ records of schools and share with compliance team/ areas/ regions to prepare in compliance with PEIMA/ PEF instructions/ MEA observation.
  • To ensure that all the Civil works must be completed as per prevailing standard engineering practices.
  • To monitor/ supervise quality of work and economical solution to various projects.
  • To understand and implement BOQ as per requirements of the project.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in purchase of material for construction / maintenance and handling construction and management engineering projects.
  • Should have quantity surveying skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Should have a proactive approach to problems.
  • Knowledge of engineering procedures & regulations.
  • Knowledge of Inventory and stock maintenance.
  • Comprehensive administrative and managerial skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer (MS Office, AutoCAD etc.) for data keeping and awareness.

Education

Diploma in Civil Engineering (DAE), B-tech Pass / B-tech Honors and equivalent certifications

Experience

At least 5+ years of working experience preferably in building Construction sites / Retired subedar from Engineer Corps
