Description

The Assistant Manager, Examination Unit – English, is responsible for supporting the planning, development, implementation, and quality assurance of assessments across TCF schools. The role involves developing high-quality assessment resources, monitoring subject standards, analyzing assessment data, ensuring compliance with assessment policies and timelines, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to continuously improve the quality, reliability, and effectiveness of examinations.

  • Develop high-quality examination papers, marking schemes, rubrics, and other assessment resources for students, teachers, and principals.
  • Ensure that all assessments are aligned with the curriculum, learning outcomes, assessment specifications, and organizational quality standards.
  • Review and revise assessment materials based on feedback, moderation outcomes, and post-examination analysis.
  • Support the continuous improvement of examination processes, templates, and assessment guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with examination policies, timelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Work closely with Curriculum, M&E, Federal, Training, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment between curriculum, teaching, and assessment.

Required Skills

  • Strong command of English language and literature.
  • Sound understanding of curriculum design, learning outcomes, Learning Taxonomies, and educational assessment principles.
  • Ability to develop valid, reliable, and curriculum-aligned assessment instruments.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to learn and remain updated with current trends in assessment and education.

Education

Master's degree in English (Language or Literature) or a relevant discipline with English as a major at the bachelor's level. A B.Ed. or equivalent professional teaching qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in English at the primary, middle, or secondary level.
