Description

1. Research & Evidence Building

  • Conduct thorough secondary research on global and local ed-tech practices, learning science principles, and relevant pedagogical innovations.

  • Review academic literature, evaluation reports, and case studies to identify promising models and evidence-based practices.

  • Develop research memos, briefs, and evidence summaries to inform decision-making.

  • Understand and apply foundational research methods, including:

    • Qualitative methods (interviews, focus groups, observations)

    • Quantitative methods (surveys, basic analysis, descriptive and inferential reasoning)

    • Impact evaluation methods (RCTs, quasi-experiments, and theory-driven evaluation); strong theoretical understanding is also valued.

  • Explore and map global organisations, platforms, and tools that support learning in low-resource contexts.

2. Program Design & Innovation

  • Support the design of tech-based education interventions by identifying problems, defining user needs, and shaping programme theory.

  • Contribute to pilot design, including sampling frameworks, monitoring tools, and implementation processes.

  • Assist in building or refining the Theory of Change (ToC), clearly articulating assumptions, pathways, and intended outcomes.

  • Develop structured documentation for new products or interventions, ensuring clarity and alignment with organisational priorities.

3. Implementation & Testing

  • Coordinate and support the rollout of pilots, including training, communication with field teams, and initial troubleshooting.

  • Facilitate testing and iteration of prototypes or early-stage interventions.

  • Capture field insights and translate them into actionable improvements for product or programme refinement.

  • Work closely with data, curriculum, and technology teams to ensure smooth execution.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Curriculum, Training, Technology, Monitoring & Evaluation) to ensure interventions are coherent and feasible.

  • Engage with external partners and solution providers to explore collaboration and learning opportunities.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging ed-tech products, AI-enabled learning tools, and global best practices.

Required Skills

  • Strong research and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in literature review and synthesizing evidence.

  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods.

  • Exposure to monitoring, evaluation, or impact measurement frameworks (knowledge of RCTs is a plus).

  • Excellent written communication, with the ability to produce clear, concise memos and briefs.

  • Strong organizational skills and comfort working in dynamic, iterative program development cycles.

  • Curiosity and a growth mindset, keen to explore new ideas, tools, and methods.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Policy, or related fields.

Experience

At least one year of full-time work experience.

Prior experience in education, ed-tech, research, or related program roles.

Experience or exposure to ed-tech product management, especially in early-stage or pilot environments.

Preliminary understanding of AI in education (K–12), including common tools, pedagogical applications, and implementation considerations.

Understanding of low-resource schooling contexts.

Basic familiarity with user-centered design or human-centered design principles.
