    TCF is seeking the services of a Business Development Consultant for 18-months, for the project “Empowering Community Women through Skills Training & Micro-Enterprise”. Under this project, community women around TCF Schools in AJK, Mansehra, Khushab, Faisalabad, Gujrat,  Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi are being taught tailoring and fashion design skills. Graduates of the training course can register as Apprentices, and work on production orders in order to earn a livelihood to support their family income. Success will be measured by the income generated through market linkages created for the vocational apprentices.

    Product Research, Design & Development: The Consultant will be responsible for understanding marketing trends, customer needs/requirements and identifying viable textiles based product designs that can be made by the vocational Apprentices; the Consultant will build and develop a catalogue of marketable
    designs and patterns which vocational apprentices can make and successfully sell; at identified price-points.
    Capacity Building: The Consultant will identify any quality gaps in the production work, and work with in-house project team and technical partners to strengthen capacity of the vocational teachers.
    Market Testing: Products identified will be produced by the Apprentices, and sold through exhibitions for market testing and research, with presentation on findings and the way forward. Distribution options including co-branding will be explored.
    Strategic Relationships: Consultant will help develop strategic relationships with textiles based companies to support the project viz. technical and financial collaboration.

    Required Skills

    • Understanding textiles design & production
    • Knowledge of domestic tailoring trade / garment industry
    • Able to communicate and coordinate with relevant stakeholders
    • Able to meet deadlines and deliver under pressure
    • Have a commitment to the cause of micro-enterprise and poverty alleviation


    Degree in Textile Fashion Designing


    The required candidate should possess 3+ years of production & design experience.
