Description
The candidate will be responsible for managing all internal announcements, documentation & processes relevant to university admissions; supervising student database; maintaining regular follow up for counseling and interview preparation; & counselling students regarding submission of documents, processing and guidance for possible career pathways.
UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS:
- Oversee the university admissions process for all graduating students.
- Provide guidance and support to students in researching and selecting suitable universities and programs based on their interests, strengths, and career aspirations.
- Assist students in preparing and submitting college applications, including essays, recommendation letters, and other required documents.
- Stay updated with the latest admission trends, requirements, and policies of various universities and share this information with students and parents.
- Conduct workshops, seminars, and informational sessions to educate students and parents about the college application process and financial aid opportunities.
ALUMNI RELATIONS:
- Develop and execute strategies to engage and maintain a strong relationship with the school's alumni community.
- Plan and organize alumni events, reunions, and networking opportunities to facilitate connections among alumni.
- Create and manage a database of alumni contacts and update their career and educational achievements regularly.
- Collaborate with alumni to establish mentorship programs, internships, and job opportunities for current students.
- Implement surveys and feedback mechanisms to gather alumni insights and use the data to improve educational programs and services.
STUDENT COUNSELING:
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to students to address their concerns and questions related to university admissions and career planning.
- Assist students in identifying scholarship and financial aid options and guide them through the application process.
- Advocate for students during the application process and liaise with universities on their behalf, if necessary.
COLLABORATION:
- Collaborate with College Leadership Team, leads, and operations to align curriculum and extracurricular activities with university admission requirements.
- Collaborate with admissions team at head office to align the tertiary support policy awareness sessions and its implementation.
- Work with the college's marketing and communication team to promote the achievements and success stories of the school's alumni.
- Data Management
- Maintain accurate records of student academic profiles, test scores, and university admission outcomes.
- Prepare reports on university admissions trends, alumni engagement, and other relevant metrics for CLT and CAC meetings.
Required Skills
- Great communication skills; must be able to motivate and lead with example.
- Strong administrative, organizational and relationship management skills required.
- Good knowledge/understanding/experience of tertiary education programs, scholarships & universities in the fields of management sciences, engineering sciences, computer sciences, medicals sciences and social sciences.
- Good analytical skills; must be a good problem solver capable of making well- informed, principled decisions and creating innovative solutions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Demonstrated passion for helping students achieve their academic and career goals.
- A great work ethic and a knack for continuous improvement.
- Pro-active with documentation and maintaining database.
Education
Bachelors OR Masters from a reputable institute.
Experience
1 - 2 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in the field of education and/or the development sector. Must be passionate about the cause of education and uplifting the young.
