Description
One of TCF’s prime yardstick of success is ‘continuous improvement’. In that light, the Learning and Assessment Design (L&AD) project aims to facilitate improvement in curriculum design, assessment item development and teaching
practices through secondary research, practitioner-oriented manuals, and constant stakeholder engagement.
The incumbent will be responsible for understanding TCF’s current learning and assessment practices to expand research
on the following:
1. Resources for effective learning materials (textbook design, teacher guide development),
2. Objectives for teacher content knowledge and pedagogical practice,
3. Development guidelines for effective assessment item and paper development.
Responsibilities will also include dissemination through trainings with stakeholders from curriculum, teacher training and
assessment teams.
- Conduct primary and secondary research on understanding current aspects
of education delivery from SLO development to assessment practices at
TCF - Conduct research on curriculum design through frameworks such as
Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy - Provide support to developers across TCF to create or review effective
student learning outcomes across multiple subjects - Develop resources such as a command words list for student learning
outcomes (this will include having a, their sources and their examples,
organizing meetings with respective stakeholders to define the verbs and
translating them in Urdu) - Conduct primary and secondary research on international best practices on
teacher objectives and devise strategies for implementation - Conduct research on paper composition to check how cognitive domains
are linked with learning outcomes - Develop manuals and organize workshops/training to disseminate research
in a context-specific and accessible form - Assess the need of the department in terms of learning and assessment and
prioritize tasks accordingly - Assess the need of the organization to conduct research on various topics
in terms of learning and assessment - Devise ways on how to effectively deliver research across different
departments within TCF
Required Skills
Due to the research and coordination-intensive nature of work, required skills are as follows:
- Demonstrated experience in conducting exploratory and targeted research
- Ability to deliver detail-oriented, time-sensitive projects
- Strong Urdu (reading/writing) and English (writing/speaking) skills
- Structure and clarity in communication
- Experience coordinating with stakeholders at any level
- Excellent command of MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Flexibility to work in teams and independently
Education
Bachelors in a related field.
Experience
Preferably 2 years or more experience in education, public policy or a related field.
