Description

Literacy and Life Skills department at TCF is leading the non-formal education program for out-of-school-children in Pakistan in the 8-16 years age bracket. The department is looking to hire subject lead for Life Skills to primarily create content for its teacher guides and student workbooks. Additionally, subject-specific content for community engagement, teacher training and developing assessments will also fall within the purview of the Subject Lead.

  • Develop academic plans for modules of life skills and Literacy
  • Develop monthly unit plans for life skills and Literacy.
  • Develop lesson plans and student workbooks.
  • Work on the digitalization of training manuals, ensuring they are effectively converted into accessible digital formats.
  • Gather both qualitative and quantitative data from field visits on implementation of life skills teaching and learning materials through classroom observations, interviews, focus groups, assessments and review of written documentation
  • Repurpose previously created formats and curriculum content in response to the information from the field and to meet the changing design and contextual needs of the program
  • Develop student assessments
  • Develop subject specific training modules and teacher assessments
  • Develop work plans for content development
  • Contribute to research and monitoring activities and reporting documents
  • Provide support in relevant cross-functional projects
  • Other activities related to the program

Required Skills

  • Experience of developing yearly and unit plans for life skills.
  • Experience in designing teacher guide/ lesson plans and students workbooks for life skills.
  • Experience of developing and administering student assessments.
  • Experience of teaching children from primary or middle to secondary grades.
  • Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse constituencies at the grassroots level.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong command in speaking, reading and writing in English, Urdu and Sindhi (preferred for Sindhi).

Education

Bachelors / Masters degree from a HEC recognized university

Experience

1-3 years of experience in research and design of education programs
