Description
The Citizen’s Foundation is seeking a passionate and self-driven Deputy Manager – Instructional Design to lead the design of content for training teachers and principals. This role focuses on creating impactful and engaging learning experiences that address the unique needs of teachers and principals as learners. These experiences will be delivered through in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
The ideal candidate will leverage instructional design principles, learning theories, and pedagogical frameworks to develop comprehensive training materials, courses, and programs. In this capacity, they will play a pivotal role in improving teaching effectiveness, fostering professional growth, and driving transformative outcomes in education.
Responsibilities:
Content Research- Immerse in TCF’s context and policies to understand contextual realities and research on good practices for classroom teaching and school leadership to ensure that scripting content is accurate, evidence-based, and aligned with pedagogical goals and TCF context.
Script Development
- Create clear and impactful scripts for video-based training for teachers and principals’ development needs
- Work with subject matter experts to align scripts with educational objectives and curriculum goals.
- Simplify complex educational concepts into practical, engaging content for teachers of all experience levels.
Creative Storytelling
- Use storytelling to create engaging narratives that boost teacher engagement and concept retention.
- Develop realistic characters and scenarios that reflect classroom challenges and offer actionable solutions.
Collaborative Production
- Collaborate with video production teams to ensure scripts are turned into engaging, high-quality training videos.
- Offer creative input during pre-production and filming to preserve the script’s educational goals.
Feedback and Revision
- Incorporate feedback from line manager on scripts to improve clarity, engagement, and impact and exhibit continuous improvement
- Gather feedback from teachers, principals, trainers, and other stakeholders to ensure scripts and videos meet learning objectives and engage the target audience.
Work Planning and Management
- Develop and maintain a work plan and organize and manage a repository of scripts, drafts, and finalized materials for easy reference and future use.
Compliance and Standards
- Ensure all scripts adhere to organizational guidelines, educational standards, and cultural sensitivity, maintaining alignment with TCF’s mission and values.
- Establish and uphold a consistent tone, style, and format.
Continuous Learning and Innovation
- Stay updated on AI advancements in education and explore how they can be applied to script development.
- Track trends in teacher training, video learning, and instructional design to incorporate best practices into scripts.
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse groups, including educators and administrators.
- Problem-solving mindset to navigate uncertainty in complex projects.
- Interest in leveraging AI to create learning experiences.
- Proficiency in MS Office and tools for documentation and analysis.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and instructional design tools
- Knowledge of learning theories and adult learning principles.
- Strong command of English and Urdu, with excellent writing and editing skills.
- Adaptability to evolving educational needs and trends in instructional design.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required, in the areas of education, curriculum, humanities, psychology and/or social sciences. Master’s preferred
Experience
4-5 years of experience, which includes classroom teaching experience and instructional design for online learning experiences and asynchronous courses
