Description

The Manager - Curriculum & Learning will lead the development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of learning content across TCF's Dastak teacher training programme and School Publishing imprint. He/She will shape how teachers learn, how students engage with text, and how TCF's educational philosophy translates into classroom-ready resources.

This is a practitioner's role. We are looking for someone who has taught or trained teachers, someone who understands how children and adults learn, and what makes content translate into learning in a low-resource classroom.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development:

  • Design, develop, and revise Dastak training courses, textbooks, and supplementary learning materials grounded in sound pedagogy and adult learning principles.
  • Lead the enhancement of teaching and learning materials ensuring conceptual clarity, appropriate challenge, and alignment with national curriculum frameworks.
  • Pilot innovative content formats including bilingual approaches, interactive visuals, and QR-linked digital assets to improve engagement and learning outcomes.

Training & Facilitation:

  • Conduct Training Needs Analyses (TNA) to generate both needs-based and generic training content and courses.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions in your area of expertise as needed.
  • Organize and lead focus groups with teachers, school leaders, and students to gather classroom-level insights that inform content decisions.

Quality Assurance:

  • Apply content scorecards and quality benchmarks to review and improve all learning materials across print and digital formats.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and educational impact across the full content portfolio.
  • Track deliverables from freelance consultants and external collaborators against agreed timelines and quality standards.

Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Work closely with the Dastak and Publishing House teams to ensure content aligns with programme goals and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with in-house teams and external consultants across the content development cycle.
  • Provide structured feedback to freelance contributors to build quality and consistency over time.

Research & Market Insight:

  • Monitor educational trends, review comparable resources from the broader sector, and synthesize user feedback to identify content gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Compile insights from teachers, students, and school leaders to drive evidence-informed content updates.

Required Skills

You are an educator or educational practitioner who has moved into or is ready to move into content development and instructional design. You think carefully about how learning happens, you write with precision and purpose, and you understand the realities of the classroom, particularly in under-resourced or low-fee private school settings.

You bring:

  • A strong foundation in educational theory and pedagogy.
  • Direct experience in teaching, teacher training, or curriculum development, ideally across primary to Grade 8.
  • Familiarity with Pakistan's National Curriculum framework and how it translates into classroom practice.
  • Strong writing, editing, and instructional design skills.
  • The ability to manage external consultants with clarity and professionalism, holding quality and timelines.

You are comfortable with:

  • Adult learning methodologies and what it takes to design effective professional development for teachers.
  • Conducting and analyzing Training Needs Analyses to design targeted content.
  • Working within low-cost private school contexts and designing for teachers with varying levels of prior training.
  • Refining content based on user feedback, focus group findings, and field research.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a closely related field is preferred. A Master's degree is an advantage.

We also welcome applications from candidates with degrees in other disciplines who bring substantial classroom or teacher training experience, and a genuine grounding in how learning works.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years in content development, curriculum design or teacher training.
• Direct teaching or teacher training experience, preferably in diverse or underserved learning environments.
• Demonstrated understanding of curriculum design, pedagogy, and conceptual progression across grade levels (Primary to Grade 8).
• Exposure to quality assurance processes for educational materials is an asset.
