Description

We are looking for an analytically sharp and creatively driven SEO & AEO Specialist to own TCF's search presence across both traditional and AI-powered platforms. This role sits at the intersection of content strategy, technical SEO, and emerging answer engine optimization, ensuring TCF surfaces prominently wherever donors and supporters are searching, whether on Google, ChatGPT, or Perplexity. The ideal candidate understands that search is no longer just about ranking but also about being the answer.

Key Responsibilities

Search Strategy & Optimization:

  • Develop and execute TCF's end-to-end SEO strategy across all digital properties, targeting donor acquisition and brand visibility.
  • Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify high-intent, high-volume search opportunities across global markets.
  • Perform regular technical SEO audits; site speed, crawlability, indexation, schema markup, and coordinate fixes with the web team.
  • Monitor and improve organic rankings, click-through rates, and search-driven traffic using Google Search Console and SEMrush.

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO):

  • Lead TCF's AEO strategy to ensure content surfaces in AI-driven search environments.
  • Structure and optimize content for featured snippets, knowledge panels, and AI-generated answer formats.
  • Stay ahead of generative engine behavior and continuously adapt content strategy to maximize visibility in AI search results.
  • Research and implement structured data and schema best practices to increase the likelihood of content being cited by AI engines.

Content Creation & Optimization:

  • Write, edit, and optimize web content including landing pages, blog posts, and campaign pages for both search and answer engine performance.
  • Develop content briefs and SEO guidelines for internal contributors and external writers.
  • Ensure all published content meets on-page SEO standards; meta titles, descriptions, headers, internal linking, and readability.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Track and report on organic search performance, keyword rankings, and content effectiveness on a regular cadence.
  • Use GA4 and SEMrush to identify opportunities, diagnose drops, and measure the impact of SEO initiatives.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the GM, Global Growth based on data trends.

Collaboration & Innovation:

  • Work closely with the Digital Analyst to connect organic traffic data to downstream conversion and donation outcomes.
  • Partner with the AEO content and web teams to ensure a consistent, optimized user experience from search entry to donation.
  • Continuously test and iterate on SEO and AEO approaches, documenting learnings and scaling what works.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in SEMrush, Google Search Console, and GA4.
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO; crawl management, Core Web Vitals, schema markup.
  • Working knowledge of AEO and generative search optimization, particularly for ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews – or a willingness to learn.
  • Solid content writing and editing skills (with the help of AI) with an SEO-first approach.
  • Familiarity with keyword research tools and competitive analysis frameworks.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Experience in the nonprofit, e-commerce or startup is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a relevant field.

Experience

At least 3 to 4 years of work experience in SEO, content marketing, or digital growth.
